コンクパール コンクパールを生み出すピンク貝は、バーミューダーからフロリダ州南部、西インド諸島を含むカリブ海全域に生息しています。また、この貝は巻き貝ですので、養殖を行うことが極めて難しく、現在のところでは全て天然真珠です。この真珠は真珠層を有せず、正確に言えば、一種の稜柱層真珠であると言えます。真珠が貝の中のどの部位で生成されるかによって色は美しいピンク・クリーム・白・茶・黒など様々なバリエーションがあります。また、強い色むらを示すものが多いのも特徴です。宝石として愛好されるコンクパールは、色がピンク、或いは甘いオレンジ色のものが中心となります。この真珠の美しさは珊瑚をしのぐ美しい天然ピンク色にありますが、その他にも真珠の表面に火炎模様（f1ames）と呼ばれる軽い遊色効果に似た美しい曲線模様が見えるものがあり、これが最上のものと評価されています。 Conch Pearls
Found throughout the Caribbean, South Florida and Bermuda, conch pearls are a product of the Queen Conch. Unlike other bivalve pearl oysters, it is difficult to cultivate pearls with conches. Therefore, conch pearls in the market currently are all natural.
Conch pearls are non-nacreous, but bear the silky porcelain-like luster of the shell's interior. The color ranges from white, cream, pink and brown, to black, and often has different shadings. Conch pearls are found in various pinks from pastel and salmon to magenta. In beautiful colors with a unique "Flame pattern", delicate wavy, and whitish lines covering the surface, these pearls are highly valued.
It is said that fine conch pearls make the corals look faded. Conch pearls in strong pink and sweet orange have been particularly admired throughout time and especially when placed in a piece of jewelry.
